Today, the Hill is reporting that Congressman Colin Peterson is taking a stand against an economically crippling climate change bill global warming activists are currently pushing through the House of Representatives. Peterson joins as many as 45 other House Democrats in criticizing the Waxman-Markey bill for going too far regulating greenhouse gases. Peterson, Chair of the Agriculture Committee, presents a substantial roadblock for climate activists seeking to impose a cap-and-trade scheme on American farms and industry. “The Waxman-Markey Bill would be a severe blow to an already depressed economy and we applaud Rep. Peterson for standing up to the environmental lobby” said Pat Anderson, President of the Minnesota Free Market Institute. The Blue Dog Democrat from Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District has consistently been an outspoken critic of climate change legislation this session.
Congressman Peterson will get his chance to publically criticize the bill, the Waxman-Markey bill is scheduled to be taken up by the Ag Committee today at 2:00.

Way to go Peterson! Stand up to those overpaid environmental snake oil salesmen. This legislation is not about saving the planet, it’s about the Green movement (the green being the money). These people will stomp over everyone to get the money flowing their way, even if it means putting farmers out of business. They don’t care about anyone. If this was such good legislation, why is it that so many lobbyist are required to get it passed? Why is there such a fight over it? Why is it being pushed through when even though the people who wrote it don’t know what it will cost? Because it’s bad legislation, this must be stopped. Today!
And then he voted FOR the bill!!!
