Friedman’s 99th: Post-Party Reflections and Photos

We had a great celebration of Milton Friedman’s Life and Ideas on July 29th. King Banaian, a St. Cloud State University Professor of Economics and now State Representative, quieted the party (OK, briefly) with his stirring remarks about how Capitalism and Freedom-not Keynesian economics and certainly not socialism-have pulled many countries out of economic malaise.

The result? People living in poverty and severe want were lifted into a descent standard of living if not prosperity. Friedman’s ideas are needed now more than ever. You can view the full text of his speech here. Thanks, King!

You can view photos of the event in our Photo Gallery (we will add photos as guests send them in to us-thanks!). It was a great evening.

Hold the date for 2012—we will celebrate Milton Friedman’s Centennial next year on July 31st.
